The first proposal for the World's Largest Lava Lamp was submitted in 2001 by a man with a large idea by the name of Brent Blake. In hopes of building the world's largest Lava Lamp in his home town of Soap Lake, Washington. The lava lamp's anticipated size may be greater than 60-feet plus, and it will reside at the home base of Soap Lake at the?intersection of Soap Lake's?Highway 17 and Main Avenue.

Some of the construction plans will include,?4-6 inch thick reinforced recycled glass with a structural metal base and top cap. The lava lamp stand seems like an easy enough architectural feat, but what about the lava lamp liquid? The lamp's bubbled, colored liquid plans have plans to be quite?similar to a conventional lava lamps. The?combination of liquids and colored treated water will give the lamp the appearance of that of the liquid filled cavity of the everyday lava lamp.

Electrical units located within the base will power the lamp's glass cylinder structure. To top it off, there are plans for an?observation platform with a catwalk surrounding the glass cylinder and the designers expect that this extra large lava lamp will be visible for 50-miles away when the sun is down.
