A recent international design competition has redesigned Milwaukee's Erie Street waterfront plaza into a spacious, glowing and sustainable social area. The?Erie Street Plaza runs along?the Milwaukee Riverwalk and?connects downtown?Milwaukee with the Third Ward and Beerline Districts via a?three-mile pedestrian and bicycle corridor.

The new design will accommodate both regular day-to-day activities and large gatherings. The winner of the landscape design competition, the Boston based architectural firm?Stoss Landscape Urbanism?saw the true design potential of this centrally located park.
The 13,000 square foot space was filled with luminous fiberglass?benches, wood covered walking paths. ?The fiberglass light benches are scattered throughout the park to provide visitors with a place or relaxation, reflection and?to act change the park's scenery as the nightfall nears.
