Industrial Floor Screeding

Cementitious industrial floor screeds can be applied from as little as 3mm thick, these are used to upgrade existing floors to give a new improved look to your industrial flooring, commercial flooring or domestic flooring surface.

Flooring screeds are used to level out problem floors when flooring flatness issues are a problem for forklift trucks on commercial flooring in warehouses&VNA Racking systems.

Some companies use expensive grinding methods to sort out flatness issues which is a very time consuming method&leaves the warehouse floor with grinding channels. However it is possible to use the overlay screed system to overcome this problem leaving the floor with a new look and the screed laid to the required tolerances, but without the problems created by using grinding methods.Dust free floor preparation is a key part of the success of the our industrial flooring screeds.

Industrial flooring company's use different materials to solve all types of commercial flooring levelling problems and up to 1,000 sq.metres coverage of flooring can be achieved in one day.

Most of these screeds can be trafficked within 12 to 24 hours giving minimum downtime and interruption to your operations.

Surface Preparation

Concrete surfaces must be sound, dry and fully cured(not subject to shrinkage).Any laitance or surface treatments must be removed by mechanical means such as dust free diamond grinding. The surface tensile strength of the substrate should be a minimum of 15 N/mm2.If an impervious coating, screed or floor covering is to be used the concrete/screed substrate should be below 75%RH alternavely Strongcoat DPM should be applied. The temperature of the floor must be maintained above 5oC throughout the application and drying of the Cemflow Base or topping. These cemflow topping products can be supplied pigmented for a wide range of aesthetic pleasing finishes.

Priming

For application over cement screeds, concrete and other porous substrates, seal the prepared surface by applying two coats of Acrylic Primer diluted with 3 parts of potable water to one part primer and allow to dry.It is imperative that any expansion joints covered should be saw cut or mirrored and sealed.

Industrial Flooring Joint Repairs

Arris joint repairs are required after flooring construction joint failure on commercial flooring.Construction joint failure is typical in most concrete floors and can cause serious&expensive damage to forklift trucks as well as becoming a health and safety issue.

The replacement of the floor joint is carried out quickly and effectively by saw cutting and breaking out the damaged area and filling with a specialist repair mortar. The joint is then cut back through with a 5mm cut and then sealed with a specialist sealant and left smooth with no transition over the repair.

Our industrial flooring joint repair system is tried and tested over many years and has proved to be very successful and long lasting.

Industrial Flooring Joint Re-sealing

Re-sealing of construction joints in concrete industrial flooring is also one of our areas of expertise-and these can be achieved on flooring joints of up to 20mm.

Flooring joint seal replacement,to existing saw cut and construction floor joints, are solved by re-cutting,cleaning out and replacement with a suitable joint sealant which still allows for movement in the floor. This method can be applied to joints up to 20mm wide and if done early enough you will save the cost of a potentially more expensive Arris joint repair.

Concrete floor grinding

When grinding concrete floors, the concrete skin is removed and the stronger concrete exposed. At the same time, the surface is ground level, which reduces the need for self-levelling compound and reduces the quantity of floor covering, with major financial savings as a result.

Grinding thick floor coverings

Thick floor coverings refers to epoxy,self-levelling compound, linoleum and plastic matting. In one sweep,5 mm of epoxy or self-levelling compound can be removed. When grinding away matting, the adhesive is also ground away, and the floor is ready to be covered with a new carpet, covering, tiles,or ready for polishing.

Grinding thin floor coverings

Thin floor coverings refers to adhesive, paint or lighter grinding to improve the adhesion of a new covering on top of an old one.Lighter grinding is an ideal way to remove any irregularities when a self-levelling floor compound is used.
