OMC is offering full-custom LED backlighting for low volume applications.
The supplier's Profiled backlight incorporates single or dual chip LEDs and they are available in full RGB and blue/white colours.
"Designers can sometimes source custom LCD glass more easily than custom backlights, and our Profiled backlight technology is often the only viable option for small to medium volume (under 10,000 pieces) requirements," said OMC's commercial director, William Heath.
The company said it can turn around bespoke-shaped backlights in five working days with set up costs starting as low as £50.
Costs can be reduced by integrating assembly features into the backlights, said OMC.
"The package we offer with custom LCD manufacturers means that projects with low production runs can benefit from a unique brand identity which is only achievable using a custom display," said Heath.
For higher volumes, the supplier also offers moulded backlights.
OMC makes LED lighting products in Cornwall. It also makes filament bulb replacements, fluorescent tube replacements, and lighting strips.
