Extrusion Is a Process Wherein Objects Are Created of a Fixed Cross-Sectional Profile

Before we talk about extrusion tools we need to first understand what extrusion is. Extrusion is a process wherein objects are created of a fixed cross-sectional profile. In this process a material is pushed or drawn through a die of the desired cross-section. The key advantages of this process over other manufacturing processes are its ability to create very complex cross-sections and work materials that are brittle, because the material only encounters compressive and shear stresses. It also forms finished parts with an excellent surface finish.

Usually the objects that are extruded include metals, polymers, ceramics, concrete, play dough, and foodstuffs. The extrusion industry tries to accelerate the manufacturing process by increasing the billet temperature and/or by accelerating the press speed that raise the loading of the tools. Additionally the tool steel producers develop enhanced more homogeneous and cleaner materials in order to increase tools lifetime. Finite element simulation of the extrusion process to get the temperature and stress evolution in the container, coupled with constitutive equations as well as lifetime consumption models in order to calculate both the inelastic strains and the tools lifetime, help to optimise the extrusion process and to compare the operating times of different hot work tool steels.

The wide array includes extrusion cross heads, extrusion tips, extrusion dies, extruded beaker plates, extrusion carbide insert tips & dies and extrusion tooling. All these products are known for tolerance, surface finish, wear resistant and high concentric features.

The extrusion tooling comprises of tips, dies, breaker plate, flanges and other accessories that are used in the process of extrusion.

There are many different variations of extrusion tools. Extrusion tools vary from each other by four major characteristics:

Movement of the extrusion with relation to the ram. If the die is held stationary and the ram moves towards it then its called "direct extrusion". If the ram is held stationary and the die moves towards the ram its called "indirect extrusion".

The position of the press, either vertical or horizontal.

The type of drive, either hydraulic or mechanical.

The type of load applied, either conventional (variable) or hydrostatic. Our products is fabricated for multiple conductor tooling and i used for all the popular style heads.

Genca deals in extrusion tools manufactured with quality material. Our engineers create durable tools that can be used for all type of materials. Explore our website to check out our product section. We also manufacture flange clamps that can be used for residential and commercial purposes.
