Fashion and technology will once again come together at the forthcoming UK's first-ever Wearable Technology Conference and Expo in London. Slated to be held from March 18 to 19, 2014, the event aims to focus on the growing acceptance of technology in primarily non-technological fields, including the creative world of fashion. The expo will host more than 70 sessions on fashion, sports and fitness, health and M2M, alongside live product demos, a developer hackfest and a business start up track.
Topics like the integration and convergence of sensor technology in fashion, how devices and sensors can interact with and become part of fashion itself, as well as the key driving forces behind smart clothing will be discussed in the conference. Also talks on colour changing fabrics and their functionality, smart textiles and its commercial opportunities and the potential of electrochromic polymers would also be conducted at the event. Additionally, a look at the latest developments in smart garments and issues like using social media, mobile devices and new technologies to drive product cost effectively will also be covered at the conference. The speaker of the event will include the likes of Dr. Manel Torres, the founder and Managing Director of Fabrican Ltd., who invented the revolutionary Spray-on fabric, and CuteCircuit label designer Francesca Rosella.
