The Pointed Urchin Lamp, and The Greater Spotted Point Lamp May Actually Fool You

The Pointed Urchin Lamp, the Lesser Spotted Pollen Lamp, and the Greater Spotted Point Lamp may actually fool you. In fact it may look just like a sea creature you may recognize in books, except these have an added feature – light! Designed by the Cornwall, England based ceramic artist Amy Cooper, her engaging collection of organic underwater vessels are composed primarily of porcelain, not actual sea creatures.

Finding inspiration from the mystical world of the sea and under the microscope, her lamps bring to the human eye what is usually unseen. These ceramic lamps are individually decorated, and with the addition of textured glazes the lamps resemble the lifelike surfaces of actual sea creatures. Amy Cooper’s pieces have been exhibited in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Norway and Dubai, as well as extensively throughout the UK.
