The Sistine Chapel Is Best Known for Its Devotional Living Space That Once Housed The Pope

The Sistine Chapel is best known for its devotional living space that once housed the Pope and its incredible artwork found on its high ceilings. Just some of the artists involved in the Sistine Chapel’s painting are Michelangelo, Sandro Botticelli, Pietro Perugino and others. Inspired by this original masterpiece is the Sistine Pendant Light by the UK based designers Young & Battaglia.

The Sistine Pendant Light’s circular design is only 27 inches wide yet it still manages to capture a glimpse of what the Sistene Chapel’s ceiling looks like up close. The shade (diffuser) features an image of 3 sisters and a dove floating in the sky. Like an art halo of light this piece was especially designed to make it look like the dove is glowing with ethereal light while the pendant’s light is turned on. Heavenly illumination!
