South Africa-Midas South African distributor,Johannesburg based Prosound(PTY),has seen an unprecedented number of South Africa's leading performance venues purchase Midas PRO consoles.
"MIDAS Consoles are selling like hot cakes here in South Africa",explains Prosound's Mark Malherbe."We've sold five PRO9 consoles within the last three months, around 15 Pro2's and a couple of Pro3's."
This huge growth in sales saw Midas technical sales manager,Jason Kelly, along with Malherbe take to the road to share the Midas training experience."We visited all of the major cities of South Africa to deliver what we called the'Prosound Live',training and advice event,"continues Malherbe."The PRO3,PRO6,and PRO9 digital consoles are all hugely successful in South Africa and with the recent additions of the PRO2,PRO2C-and even more recently the PRO1-Midas is affordable to an even larger sector of the audio industry."
In just one week the ambitious training tour took in venues in Johannesburg,Bloemfontein,Durban and Cape Town.
"People are amazed with the functionality of the PRO Series and the fact that the sound quality remains the same as it always has-that famous Midas sound,"continues Malherbe."Hardcore analogue Midas users seem to really like the PRO series."
The well received training tour kicked off in Johannesburg with Live@The Prosound LIVE Room where local bands,Shadow Club and Cold Water Morning, performed sets that showcased the latest PRO-series features to an enthusiastic audience of sound engineers and designers.
Next stop was the Performing Arts Centre of the Free State's sound department,Bloemfontein, which recently purchased two PRO9 and three PRO2 Consoles.Kelly and Malherbe delivered an advanced training workshop and also took the opportunity to introduce the award winning PRO1,launched earlier this year.
The duo then set off to set Durban followed by Cape Town's Artscape Theatre, which recently installed two PRO9 consoles.Attendees were given the opportunity for hands on live experience in the presence of the experts. The team also delivered an advanced training workshop, which spanned two days, and was complemented by a number of other industry seminars.
Jason Kelly of Midas is impressed with the overwhelmingly positive response to the PRO Series in South Africa:"First,a huge thank you to everyone who attended the seminars in South Africa. It was amazing to meet so many fantastic people. The interest in the PRO Series family has been phenomenal and the PRO1 has been particularly well received.Visiting four cities in five days took its toll but with over 100 professionals attending, there's no room for complaint."
