An Overview
Air pressure amplifiers, also known as air boosters are one of the simplest and economical tools for air pressure applications. These industrial air systems often require a higher pressure of air to operate and function. The true use of air amplifiers is when the supply air or gas pressure needs to be increased in a given system. These devices provide a cost-effective and viable alternative in the industry. They are an extremely functional choice in various different industries and applications because of their broad range of uses.
Moreover, their precisely engineered design helps in boosting or increasing the supply of air pressure at various work stations and pneumatically operated industrial machines whenever any other working pressure is in short supply. These devices can be easily used with other air operated tools or equipments to enhance their efficiency and performance capacity. These tools are ideal for any industrial use as they present cost-effective and effortless methods of suiting and meeting all your desired air pressure requirements.
Working Principle
The principle of an air booster is much similar to other liquid pumps wherein, a large air drive piston is straight connected to a comparatively much smaller pumping piston. It is the incoming air from the compressor that drives the booster system and in turn feeds the supply to the overall unit.
Each air booster and amplifier comprises of a spool valve that behaves as a 4-way directional control valve. The plant air is provided to the spool valve that automatically cycles to and fro. Now as the spool cycles, the plant air is alternately directed into the valve to the main air drive piston that is present in the air-drive cylinder. This mechanism helps the piston to cycle to and fro in the air booster.
Uses and basic functions
The most common use of air amplifiers is in applications like conveying, cooling, drying, and cleaning. They have the ability to increase the air flow in a system through consumption of small amounts of compressed air. They are mainly used when the working pressure in the system is insufficient for further use. An air booster helps to amplify or boost the supply of air pressure in an application related to gas operated machines and tools.
There are many manufacturers that prefer investing in this device to enhance the production techniques. They find it vital to implement these devices for maximum capacities and versatility in various industrial applications. The popular manufacturers like Maximator and Maxpro air pressure systems are the best on the market. Air amplifiers offered by these brands are suitable for different forms of gas applications, and are highly sturdy and reliable by nature and performance.
