The day link spring used in daybeds provide a study bed. The daybed link spring is a cross bar that goes from the two side panels across the front of the frame. This provides full support for the mattress and the individuals sleeping or sitting on it. The daybed link spring is available in several models and can be bought separately as well.

Daybed Options
Some daybed models offer a pop-up trundle bed, which gives you even more sleeping room. The pop-up trundle gives you a king size bed instead of the smaller twin mattress. During the day it is hidden under the bed. Another option is the traditional trundle pulls out and offers a second sleeping surface. They do not elevate as the pop-up trundle but stay in place on the floor. Trundle daybeds are excellent for sleepovers or for siblings sharing a room. Both types of trundles are simple to use; a child can even pull the trundle in and out.
