Artek is bringing back great and original designs from the 50′–the A808 and U336.
A808,originally designed in the 1950′s by Alvar Aalto,and out of production for decades,will be re-introduced this fall.
U336 was designed by Jorn Utzon,who worked as an architect in Alvar Aalto's office.Designed in 1957 for the kitchen area of Villa Mairea,a landmark in Finland designed by Alvar Aalto.The neutral white finish and shell-like structure of this lamp echo Utzon's most famous project he designed in the same year,the Sydney Opera House.The U336 has never before been put into production.
