Philip Beesley goes beyond traditional ideas of architecture by asking questions like "Can architecture live?" and "Can it respond to us?" Just these basic questions bring up so many more like, can we exist in a society where architecture is completely interactive and able to function as a living system with embedded machine intelligence?

Well he has done it, as least has started the process. Through the use of primitive and responsive architecture Philip has created a new suspended geotextile terrain that functions like a living system. His new interactive intelligent architectural display, the Hylozoic Series combines:
mesh work structure muscles neurons and memory
All of which work together to make a kinetic environment, creating a new type of responsive architectural system. See for yourself in the video below.
