Sixteen years after inspiring his mother to create the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, Martin Kisel is helping the non-profit expand nationally while reflecting on his two decades in remission.
The 27-year-old helps his mother run the Orland Park-based organization that serves about 8,500 children at 44 cancer treatment centers in 15 states from California to Massachusetts.
"I'm very fortunate to be part of this," he said. "It means everything to me."
