Twin Rivers Is Well-Positioned to Meet The Growing Demand for Sustainable Packaging

Integrated specialty paper company in the US, Twin Rivers has announced the expansion of its Acadia Natural paper portfolio, in a bid to address the market need for environmentally-responsible packaging.

Acadia Natural, a fully recyclable and compostable packaging paper, is made from unbleached pulp and its portfolio will now include basis weight offerings as low as 18lb and up to 50lb.

According to the company, the packaging paper offers an environmentally friendly alternative for applications such as bread bags, carry-out bags, fast-food sandwich wraps, french fry bags and basket liners.

Twin Rivers business development and marketing director Dave Deger said the company is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging both with its portfolio and ability to codevelop products customized to the packaging market needs.

"By broadening our product offering we are able to support lightweight initiatives as well as serve a broader set of end-use applications," Deger said.

Acadia Natural is available as a standard as well as an oil and grease-resistant (OGR) option and serves as a solution for food service, retail-food applications and quick serve restaurants.
