Pakit Cooperates with Pepsico to Do Research on Sustainable Packaging

Canada-based provider of packaging technology, Pakit, has entered an agreement with the global beverage company, PepsiCo, to develop new sustainable packaging.

Pakit is known for designing innovative technology which uses cellulose fibre to make recyclable and biodegradable moulded board to replace the plastic and foam packaging, conventionally used in the packaging industry.

According to the company, the moulded board is thinner and offers a smooth exterior surface, with improvized logo and advertising print quality.

In addition, the technology enables to form products with complicated shapes, from compartmental plates, clamshells and trays for the food industry as well as protective packaging for the electronics and pharmaceutical industries, with little or no risk of cracking or deformation.

Pakit president Dwayne Yaretz said the company is happy to have the opportunity to demonstrate their transformative technology to PepsiCo which can satisfy the stringent standards set by their packaging requirements.
