Ford Introduces New Escape SUV with Smartphone Connectivity

Ford has redesigned its Escape SUV with advanced driver-assist technologies, new mobile connectivity along with efficient EcoBoost engines.

The Escape SE and Titanium trim levels features 1.5-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine.

Consumers can also opt for new twin-scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine which is capable of sensing when the vehicle is idle and shuts off the engine to save fuel.

The twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost is capable of producing 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque.

With Escape, Ford has ventured into smartphone connectivity through the SYNC Connect, a new feature that will allow users to control several functions of the car through their smartphone remotely.

SYNC Connect will allow users to unlock doors, check fuel level and even locate where a vehicle is parked.

The latest driver-assist technologies for the new Escape features adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning with brake support, a lane-keeping system and enhanced active park assist.

The company's current driver-assist technologies include Blind Spot Information System, Hill-start assist, and Hands-free, foot-activated liftgate.

Ford president Joe Hinrichs said: "The compact SUV segment is the largest and most competitive in the US, and the new Escape delivers even more of what our customers want - more technology they can really use to make their daily drive safer and easier."
