Renault to Manufacture Kwid Hatchback at Brazilian Plant

Renault will manufacture the new model of Kwid hatchback at its Ayrton Senna industrial complex in Curitiba, Brazil.

Renault Technology Americas (RTA) and Renault Design Latin America (RDLA) have adopted the Brazilian Kwid.

Some reports suggest that Renault Kwid was spotted several times on Brazilian roads and the launch is expected to take place during Sao Paulo International Motor Show to be held in November this year.

RTA and RDLA worked on the interior and the exterior of the vehicle.

The Renault Kwid features a new compact engine with advanced technology for accurate air to fuel ratio monitoring.

It also features a driver side airbag and central locking system.A knock sensor automatically adjusts spark advance to fuel quality, to help deliver optimized performance.

Until now, Renault Kwid was only manufactured in India to serve the local market. The expansion to Brazil indicates that Renault could introduce the vehicle in the Latin American markets.

The Ayrton Senna Complex was inaugaurated in 1998 after the establishment of of Renault do Brasil.

The Curitiba site features a passenger car facility, an engine plant, and an LCV facility.

The facility handles the pressing, body assembly, paint work and final assembly of vehicles before their distribution via the Renault network.

Some of the important vehicles that are built at the plant include Logan, Sandero, Duster, Duster Oroch and Master models.
