German chemical company BASF is delivering paints for the ComfortClass 500 bus produced by Setra, a brand of Daimler subsidiary EvoBus.
The new bus, which was unveiled at the 2012 International Automobile-Ausstellung (IAA) Commercial Vehicles in Hanover, Germany, is currently being operated on Europe's roads.
The company supplied the basecoat with red metallic color named as Fiery Vulcana Metallic that was developed by its designers in collaboration with EvoBus.
In addition to the manufacturing of paints for the passenger car sector, BASF also offers paint systems for commercial and transportation vehicle manufacturers.
The BASF Coatings' products include automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinishes, industrial coatings and decorative paints, while the company reached global sales of EUR2.8bn in 2011.
