The trainees consisting of two young women and 21 young men designed and built the concept car, which is expected to be unveiled to the 34th GTI Meeting at Worthersee in Austria.

The trainees were helped by Skoda Auto production director Michael Oeljeklaus and chief designer Jozef Kaban to design the car.

The concept truck features LED lights mounted below the sidebars, spoiler surrounded by sills and grille. It also highlights a metallic colors steel-grey and moon-white color.

The designers have used LED technology for duel-lens headlights, and green LED light strips for daytime running lights.

The pickup truck is powered by 1.2 TSI petrol with 90 kW of power output, and it features 18-inch 'Gemini' alloy wheels.

Skoda HR director Bohdan Wojnar said: "After the excellent results of the SKODA Trainee Car premiere last year, it was clear that we would continue the project.

"We would like to thank everyone who has supported the project, especially the teachers at the skoda Auto Vocational School. The skoda FUNstar is a great concept car that is going to surprise and inspire visitors at the GTI Meeting."
