According to report, Argentina' steelmaker Ternium Siderar reported a profit rise of 250% in the third quarter to 324 million pesos (US$68 million), from 92.6 million pesos (US$20 million).
The third-quarter result also rose from the same period of last year of 161 million pesos ($34 million), almost a doubled earning. Its Q3 sales rose by 7% from a quarter ago to 3.21 billion pesos (US$673 million), but down by 3% from the third quarter of 2011.
Shipments of flat steel were 625,800 tons, about the same of the second quarter, but about 10% down from the third quarter of 2011.
The company expects the fourth-quarter result will not come with big change but facing seasonal slowdown by the year-end.
