In a huge artwork and advert,Panasonic dropped 100,000 solar-charged floating LED globes into Sumida River to celebrate Tokyo's Hotaru Festival.
The points of blue light were a homage to fireflies-Hotaru translates to firefly.
"After the event,all the'wishing stars'were collected to be reused again in the future,"said Panasonic.
Each globe has an LED,a battery and a solar cell.
