Jacobson Companies and Pepperidge Farm, an international commercial bakery, announced plans to open a new 146,000ft2 distribution centre in Morrow, Georgia.
The new warehouse will serve as a distribution and packaging site for several major Pepperidge Farms brands. Upon opening, it will become the company's first regional distribution centre to handle both snacks and bread products.
Handling returns, the cross-dock warehouse will function with a high level of case pick. It is also expected t handle creation of end-aisle displays, rainbow pallets and other value-added packaging services in future.
Pepperidge Farms Planning & Logistic senior director Brad Charles said: "We selected Jacobson for their strong experience in the food industry and their track record for providing outstanding customer service.
"This new warehouse is a key strategic investment for Pepperidge Farm and will support our distribution growth in the southeast region. The Jacobson Companies team understands our priorities and demonstrated a refreshing 'can do' approach as we prepared to open the facility," Charles added.
Pepperidge Farm products are found in 45 countries across four continents. They include cookies, crackers, breads, desserts, pastries and include brands such as Goldfish crackers and Milano cookies.
