Ford’s Global Sales were 5.668 Million in 2012, Down 0.5% Y-O-Y

January 29, Ford Motor announced that its global sales were 5.668 million in 2012, down 0.5% year on year compared to 5.695 million in 2011.

Although the sales slightly declined in 2012, Ford’s sales in the fourth quarter grew again, because of the stable growth in the Asian-Pacific region and Africa and sales rebound in South American market. Ford sold 1.534 million cars worldwide in the fourth quarter last year, with a rise of 7.5% compared to 1.427 million in 2011.

In the fourth quarter of 2012, Ford’s sales in North America were 0.755 million, up 8.9% year on year compared to 0.693 million of the same periods in 2011; sales in South America were 0.144 million, rose 16.1% year on year compared to 0.124 million of the same periods in 2011; sales in Europe were 0.327 million, down 16.4% year on year compared to 0.391 million of the same periods in 2011; sales in the Asian-Pacific region and Africa were 0.308 million, up 40.6% year on year compared to 0.219 million of the same periods in 2011.

In 2012, Ford’s sales in North America were 2.784 million, up 3.6% year on year compared to 2.686 million in 2011; sales in South America were 0.498 million, down 1.6% year on year compared to 0.506 million in 2011; sales in Europe were 1.353 million, with a drop of 15.5% year on year compared to 1.602 million in 2011; sales in the Asian-Pacific region and Africa were 1.033 million, rose 14.7% year on year compared to 0.901 million in 2011.
