Swedish automaker Scania has secured a contract from Taiwanese bus bodybuilder Gen-Chen to supply 100 additional chassis.
Since the early 1990s, Scania and Gen-Chen have been working together and the former has been the chassis supplier.
Under the contract, Scania will deliver K400 bus chassis during 2015-2016.
Gen-Chen chairman Chen Horn-Ho said: "Our customers appreciate the way that Scania Taiwan has extended its service network.
"This increases convenience and means that they have the best possible back up for their competitive businesses.
"The newly established Tainan workshop, in particular, offers nearby back-up service for us."
Powered by 400 hp Euro 5 engines, Gen-Chen's Scania buses are designed to accommodate 45 passengers.
Since its inception in 2013, more than 550 Scania K400 buses are on road and are said to be the best-selling buses in Taiwan's coach and intercity market.
In 2014, Scania received 623 orders and 367 units registered for Euro 5 coaches.
