According to the co-operative, the Kerrygold's sweet Cheddar features a creamy texture, a distinct nuttiness and a hint of sweet apple.

As the trend in the UK and the rest of Europe is shifting towards a sweet Cheddar, the company expects a similar demand in the US.

Similar to other Kerrygold cheeses and butters, Skellig is manufactured in Ireland with milk from grass-fed cows that are free of artificial growth hormones.

The company stated that Skellig can be used to add flavor to any culinary applications for Cheddar such as small cubes on skewers alternating with dates or dried figs, shredding on salads or melting it over a burger.

Irish Dairy Board is the marketing and selling cooperative created by Ireland's small dairy farmer co-ops and co-op creameries to export butter and cheeses globally. Kerrygold is the international brand of the IDB.
