Boston ScientificBoston Scientific, a manufacturer of medical devices, is now offering Rubicon Support Catheter in 0.035" and 0.018" diameters in the US.
The FDA-approved and CE-marked device, which provides various functionalities such as pushability, low-profile and flexibility, facilitates clinicians to place and support guidewires that are used in peripheral vascular procedures to deliver stents and balloons and open blockages in the legs and other peripheral arteries.
Boston Scientific peripheral interventions president Jeff Mirviss said Support catheters can also help physicians treat more patients by facilitating crossing of different types of challenging and complex lesions.
"By making a full range of diameters of Rubicon Support Catheters available, we are offering more choices to clinicians," Mirviss added.
Boston Scientific is also launching the 0.035" Rubicon Support Catheter in Europe, as an addition to 0.018" diametre size that was introduced in the last fall.
The company said the device was previously available in 0.014" diameter and varying lengths of 65cm, 90cm, 135cm and 150cm.
