Recently, the China Iron & Steel Association and the Awards Committee of Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards of the Chinese Society for Metals have officially announced the evaluation and selection results of Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards 2013. In a total of 76 award-winning projects, Baosteel won nine awards totally, the only one Grand Prize, 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 2 third prizes.
Baosteel's Technology and Industrialization of Advanced High Strength Steel Strip Manufacturing was awarded with the only one Grand Prize of Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards 2013. The main results include the successful development of the key technology for continuous heat treatment-- fast cooling technology, process and equipment integration technology for flexible high strength steel production line, the manufacturing technology for the first generation and third generation of advanced high strength steel (Q&P), the application technology of advanced high strength steel; Over the past three years, the project has generated economic benefits of RMB 3 billion directly, obtained 82 patents (thereof 44 invention patents) and know-how 124, published 69 technical essays, it developed 5 enterprise standards and 5 national standards; In addition, the high strength steel products were granted with accreditation and authorization by the domestic and overseas famous automobile manufacturers; General speaking, the overall level of technologies applied in the project is considered as the world-class advanced level.
Baosteel's Development and Application of Steel Pipe for 600℃ Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Generator and Key Technology and Application of High Performance RH Vacuum Refining Furnace were awarded with the first prize; Research and Development and Integration of High Efficient Energy Saving Technology For Large-Scale Heating Furnace System, Development of the Series Products of Ferritic Stainless Steel for Car Exhaust System, Research and Development Of the Key Technology of Multi-Functional Flexible Levelling Machine Unit for High Quality Cold Rolling Super-Thin Steel Strip and Control Technology of High Performance Coiling for Hot Rolled Products won the second prize; Development and Manufacturing of Heat-resistant Series Oil Casing Pipe and JYB11 -- Auto-parts-based Supply Chain System were awarded the third prize. Moreover, a person is deserved to be mentioned here, Mr. Xing Li Jun, the front-line worker, from the hot mill plant of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. He completed the above-mentioned Control Technology of High Performance Coiling for Hot Rolled Products awarded with the second prize, which meant that talented employees come out in succession in the different innovation working position.
It was reported that a total of 76 prizes were awarded, thereof, 1 of Grand Prize, 10 of first prizes, 24 of second prizes, and 41 of third prizes.
