Densitron Is Claiming 150,000 Hours Lifetime for OLED Alphanumeric Displays

Densitron is claiming 150,000 hours lifetime for OLED alphanumeric displays.

"A few years ago Yellow OLED displays typically have 40,000 hours lifetime at 100nits[cd/m2]brightness,"said the firm."Continuous improvement in materials and driver IC,and switchover from tape-automated-bonding and chip-on-foil to chip-on-glass bonding over the years have enabled power efficiency and lifetime across all colours to increase significantly."

It is now offering yellow OLEDs with 100,000h life at 100cd/m2,increasing to 150,000 hours at the dimmer setting of 80cd/m2.

"Our other display colours now have three times longer lifetime than when they were first introduced,"Densitron added.

OLEDs have an inherently wide viewing angle compared with LCDs,and can have lower power consumption compared with backlit LCDs.
