California-based Balqon has launched the ZEVQON electric vehicle (EV) motor controllers for zero emission commercial truck and bus markets.
The ZEVQON uses the insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) technology to convert battery DC voltage to AC voltage with the input battery voltage ranging from 150-700V to provide outputs of 230-480V for the applications within the frequency range of 0-400 Hz.
Balqon CEO Balwinder Samra said: "ZEVQON line of motor controllers incorporates the latest in high power IGBT technology combined with improved diagnostic and configuration capabilities, which allows our customers to customize performance across a wide spectrum of applications ranging from push back airline tractors to 40 passenger transit buses."
The motor controller features liquid cooling, regenerative braking and claimed to meet automotive J1939 Can Bus communication protocol.
The converter offers a power range of 20-240Kw for use in electric vehicles including small utility vehicle to 30 tonne on-road truck.
