US-based Boingo Graphics, a commercial printing company, has expanded its grand format print capabilities by installing the HP Scitex FB700 six-color UV press and the Colex Sharpcut Flatbed Cutter system.
Boingo Graphics president Scott Nowokunski said the addition of the HP Scitex FB700 and the Colex Flatbed cutter system were a natural progression to meet the increased volume generated by its clients.
"This equipment really fits our mission to be a really cool printing company. The applications are endless and they are only limited by our imagination," Nowokunski said.
The HP Scitex FB700 is a six color, 98" wide UV digital format press that prints direct ly onto both rigid substrates and roll-to-roll media.
It can print on substrates up to 2.5" thick on any surface which includes foam board, styrene, plexi-glass, metal, plywood, and corrugated packaging materials.
In the roll mode, it can print on any roll substrate including banner materials, papers, vinyl, pressure sensitive label stock, and window and floor decal materials. It utilizes UV lamp technology to instantaneously cure ink to any substrate.
The Colex Sharpcut Flatbed Cutter system includes a fixed knife, oscillating knife and router that allows multitude of applications on substrates up to 5 ft. x 10 ft. Its Sharpcut production power and quick-tool change ensures clean, smooth edge quality and on-time delivery, each time.
