Solar cell maker Solartech Energy will temporarily suspend one of its 11 production lines in Taiwan and continue operating the other 10 to maintain a local capacity utilization rate at 90%, according to Chinese-language newspaper Economic Daily News (EDN).
Meanwhile, Solartech began production at the first line at a joint-venture solar cell factory in Malaysia at the end of March, with a second line to come into operation at the end of April or the beginning of May, EDN indicated.
Solar cell prices dropped a great deal in March but Solartech expects prices to stabilize in April, EDN said.
