On April 2, Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steelmaker Baotou Iron and Steel Co. (Baogang Group) announced that in the first quarter this year its outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel amounted to 2.5694 million mt, 2.6372 million mt and 2.4889 million mt, up by 7.37 percent, 9.39 percent and 8.12 percent respectively, all on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, its subsidiary Baogang International Trade exported 305,700 mt of finished steel in the given period, increasing by 54,400 mt, earning export revenues of $179 million, up by $8.3949 million, both year on year.
