The Finnish manufacturer of kitchen furniture, Puustelli Group Oy, has developed a frame structure together with wood and paper group UPM-Kymmene, which is to replace the corpuses previously made of particle boards in kitchen construction. As a consequence the weight of the kitchen furniture is reduced by 50%. Framework components made of the organic material UPM ForMi are produced at UPM’s facilities in Lahti. They have pre-made holes on which to mount the fittings. On 30 January Puustelli presented such a kitchen under the name of Puustelli Minus. According to Puustelli managing director, Jussi Aine, this model is to go into production in June.
