Wegmans Food Markets is recalling 4,327 units of its own brand Apple Cinnamon Mini Muffins, as it contains soy which is not mentioned on the labeling.
The Mini Muffins of 14oz were distributed to 82 Wegmans stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Massachusetts, and sold in a plastic clamshell container between 7 September 2013 and 19 September 2013.
The product features UPC code 77890 18951 and all date codes up to and including 'Best if used by 9/24/13' are being recalled.
The problem was identified by Wegmans during its routine ingredient/label review process where it was noted that soy was not declared on the label.
People intolerant to soy are at the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. To date there have been no reported illnesses associated with the product.
Customers who purchased the product can return it to the Wegmans store for a full refund.
