United Insurance, a property and casualty insurance holding company, has selected B Bradford Martz, CPA, as its chief financial officer (CFO), effective from 1 October 2012.
In his new role, Martz will be responsible for United's financial planning, reporting and internal control functions, and general corporate finance activities, the insurer said.
Martz has more than 20 years of experience in insurance and financial services industry and held several key postitions including chief financial officer, chief accounting officer, controller, and director of finance and corporate planning.
Most recently, he was acting as a senior vice president and CFO of Bankers Financial (Bankers), a St. Petersburg, Florida based insurance holding company.
United stated chief executive officer John Forney said Brad will be a valuable asset during the stage of United's development and integral to the firm's focus on enhancing shareholder value.
From 2004 to present, Martz worked as chief accounting officer and then moved to act as chief financial officer for Bankers, where he managed all aspects of accounting and finance with a team of over 40 professionals in five locations.
Prior to Bankers, he worked as managing partner at a regional accounting firm, Lake, Martz & Company, from 2002 -2004 in Tampa.
