Automotive parts supplier ZF Friedrichshafen has received a new order for 405 new buses, which will be equipped with its front and rear axle systems in the Netherlands.
Featuring steering technology from ZF Lenksysteme GmbH as well as with ZF chassis technology, the buses are designed with special requirements of public passenger transport in the Netherlands. They can be used both in inner city transport and regional passenger traffic.
Utrecht city will use a total of 135 new buses, which are included with ZF-EcoLife technology to reduce the engine speed in buses in all operating conditions.
The TopoDyn Life shifting program installed ensures that the automatic transmission shifts up as early as possible depending on the topography and the load condition of the bus.
Apart from Utrecht, the remaining buses will be used for transport in Arnhem city as well as in the regions of South Holland and Friesland.
ZF Friedrichshafen commercial vehicle technology division management board member Rolf Lutz said: "With these orders, our bus driveline technology has achieved a market share of almost 50 percent with new orders in this country."
