Dickies Adopts Invista's Cordura Fabric in Trousers

Dickies, a leading workwear manufacturer in the European workwear market since 1922 has adopted Invista's Cordura Classic fabric in their Grafter Duo-Tone trousers. First adopted in their Eisenhower collection, Dickies has continued to develop new collections integrating durable, versatile and reliable Cordura fabrics to help provide long-lasting performance and enduring appeal.

The following Dickies products feature Cordura brand fabrics:

Eisenhower Multi-Pocket trousers: Designed for functional practicality, the multi-pocket design means, "there's a place for everything and everything can be kept in its place," said Maurice Morton, sales and marketing director at Dickies. With removable pockets, a choice of three standard leg lengths and five different colours, the Eisenhower trouser is available in 300 gsm weight. The trouser is reinforced with Cordura Classic fabric in high wear areas such as hammer loops, kneepads, and hem guards – transforming the most vulnerable parts of the garment into some of the strongest.

Grafter Duo-Tone trousers: Perceived as more of an all-rounder than the tool-friendly Eisenhower, the Grafter comes triple-stitched for exceptional performance. Available in 100 percent cotton in either 210 gsm or 290 gsm weights and equipped with reinforced Cordura Classic fabric kneepad pockets for added durability, the Grafter Duo-Tone trousers come in five different colours.

"Cordura Classic fabric is our legacy offering and our core business within the European workwear market," said Tim Anson, European Cordura brand workwear manager. "As the market continuously evolves and the specific needs of the wearers change, we have worked in conjunction with authorised fabric producers to develop innovative fabrics such as Cordura Denim and Cordura NYCO fabrics, which provide a wide range of benefits for both garment manufacturers and wearers alike as well as stylish appeal to meet market demands."

For more than 45 years, Cordura fabric has been recognised worldwide as the fabric of choice for manufacturers of industrial workwear. With a well-established reputation for toughness and durability, Cordura fabrics are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of individuals working in conditions that require an extra level of protection. Used widely throughout a range of industry sectors, from leisure to the military, Cordura fabrics are a natural choice for some of the world's best-known workwear and performance gear manufacturers.

"Dickies is committed to producing hardwearing functional workwear that combine quality and value. With 90 years experience in workwear manufacturing, numerous workers have found Dickies to be a brand they can trust," said Morton. "Utilizing the best of both modern and traditional construction techniques, the Dickies range is made to last while numerous design features ensure the garments are practical and afford exceptional comfort. Consumers like to see that we are using branded fabrics such as Cordura fabric for durability and that we are being innovative and are constantly evolving with the technologies that are out there."

With Dickies fast approaching their centenary year and the Cordura brand commemorating its 45th anniversary, both companies are celebrating milestones of performance and heritage. The collaboration between these legacy brands brings with it an exceptional combination of quality, performance and durability to today's ever-changing workwear market.
