Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews has partnered with New Belgium Brewing to create a burger-inspired beer.
Dubbed Grilled Pineapple Golden Ale, the new beer will mark its debut during the Great American Beer Festival in Denver from October 6-8.
The grilled pineapple beer which contains 5.5% alcohol by volume is inspired by Red Robin’s Banzai Burger. It is said to be complementing the burger’s pineapple and teriyaki flavor profile.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews senior vice president and chief marketing officer Jonathan Muhtar said: "Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews continues to build its bar program by exploring craft beers, 'Burger and Brew' pairings and new drinks that incorporate fresh ingredients and new, bold flavors.”
Banzai Burger features a sesame seed bun having fire-grilled patty glazed in teriyaki with toppings of grilled pineapple, lettuce, Cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce and mayo.
The beer is said to be made of ginger, brown sugar along with black malt which is built by adding soy and umami notes. This combination is followed by a dose of pineapple pieces and a small quantity of Applewood smoked malt to make the beer complement the taste of Banzai Burger.
After the official launch, the Golden Ale style beer will be served on-tap at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews restaurants across Colorado till supplies last.
Red Robin has 540 restaurants across the US and Canada.
On the other hand, New Belgium Brewing is a 100% employee-owned brewery that makes a range of Belgian-inspired beers that include Fat Tire Amber Ale.
