Stryker, a US-based developer of medical implants, surgical and imaging technologies, has introduced ES2 spinal system.
The system, which uses the company's Xia 3 pedicle screw technology, is designed for one-step, percutaneous placement of the screw and retractor during minimally invasive procedures.
The system is compatible with Stryker Navigation's SpineMap3D_2.0 software and spine navigation instruments.
Seattle Minimally Invasive Spine Center director and orthopedic surgeon Jeffrey Roh said the ES2 implant has built-in reduction capabilities, integrated blades and an anatomically designed thread pattern.
"With ES2, I am confident that my patients are receiving the highest quality products that allow me to provide excellent outcomes both during and after their surgery," Roh added.
Stryker Spine president Spencer Stiles said, "The ES2 Spinal System is an exciting addition to our ever-growing portfolio of less invasive technologies and a great compliment to Stryker's power platform which includes CD3, the only FDA cleared cordless power drill."
