Ford is putting its product-led transformation on display at the 35th Bangkok International Motor Show, highlighting its commitment to bring more segment-leading global Ford vehicles to consumers in Thailand and across the ASEAN region.
The Bangkok International Motor Show coincides with the ASEAN launch of two new vehicles: the significantly redesigned Fiesta, now equipped with Ford's global 1.5L Ti-VCT engine, and the all-new EcoSport, a versatile, fuel efficient urban SUV designed to complement consumers' busy lifestyles.
The Fiesta and EcoSport are just two of 18 vehicles that visitors will see at Ford's display.
"The Bangkok Motor Show is a great opportunity to showcase our growing lineup of global Ford vehicles available to customers in this dynamic and growing region," said Matt Bradley, president of Ford ASEAN. "By bringing customers more choice of powertrains in the new Fiesta, and an exciting new urban SUV with the all-new EcoSport, we're confident that our momentum will continue this year."
Together, the new Fiesta and all-new EcoSport give Ford strong offerings in the highly competitive small-car segment. Ford is expecting small cars with wide appeal like the Fiesta and EcoSport to make up a significant percentage of its overall global sales.
And with an annual sales target of eight million globally by mid-decade, Ford expects 60 to 70 percent of its sales growth to come from the Asia Pacific region, with ASEAN markets playing a key role.
Ford is also giving consumers a glimpse of the future with the ASEAN reveal of the Ford Everest Concept. A strong indication of Ford's vision for a mid-sized seven-seat SUV designed for ASEAN and global markets, the Everest Concept is the latest proof point in Ford's drive to bring a full range of global segment-leading vehicles to market.
New Fiesta and all-new EcoSport
Expanding consumers' power of choice, Ford is adding another engine and transmission to its popular new Fiesta lineup. With Ford's global 1.5L Ti-VCT engine matched to Ford's six-speed PowerShift transmission, consumers will enjoy leading fuel economy, low emissions and the convenience of an automatic transmission with the responsive performance of a manual.
Featuring a striking new look highlighted by a sporty trapezoidal grille, the new Fiesta is packed with smart technologies, including Ford's award-winning SYNC in-car connectivity system, which allows drivers to stay connected while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. SYNC lets drivers make phone calls and control their in-car entertainment system hands-free, using voice commands.
Pricing for the new Fiesta 1.5L ranges from Bt.569,000 for the four-door 1.5L Fiesta Ambiente with a manual transmission to Bt.719,000 for the four- or five-door 1.5L Titanium with six-speed PowerShift transmission.
Ford is also putting the spotlight on its all-new EcoSport urban SUV, developed by a global team based in South America. The all-new EcoSport is being built at the company's state-of-the-art Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) facility in Rayong for the domestic Thai market and export across ASEAN.
Smart features such as Ford's SYNC in-car connectivity system combine with high fuel efficiency, class-leading cargo area, 500mm water-wading capability, and 200mm of ground clearance to help the all-new EcoSport fit in perfectly with consumers' busy urban lifestyles.
"We're excited to bring these two vehicles to the Bangkok Motor Show," said Yukontorn 'Vickie' Wisadkosin, managing director, Ford Thailand. "The versatile all-new EcoSport urban SUV will help define a whole new vehicle segment. And with its sporty new look, SYNC, and global 1.5L Ti-VCT engine, we're giving customers even more reasons to buy a new Fiesta."
Interactive displays
Ford is providing a range of interactive displays at the Bangkok Motor Show to help visitors better understand Ford's smart and green technologies.
These include an "EcoBoost Me" photo booth, designed to give visitors a visceral sensation of the power of a turbocharged engine. Featuring a high-powered fan to simulate forced induction, visitors will have the chance to take and share souvenir photos showing them being quite literally blown away.
An EcoBoost engine display will also tell the story of the EcoBoost family, helping visitors to understand the combination of power and efficiency made possible by the revolutionary engine technology.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to try out SYNC for themselves using a sample instrument panel unit, and can step inside any of the vehicles on the stand to receive a demonstration of SYNC in their favorite Ford.
World-class ownership experience
As Ford further expands its product lineup and dealership network across the region, the company also remains focused on continuously enhancing its customer service offerings to ensure peace of mind.
At the Ford Service Corner, visitors have the opportunity to watch technicians from Ford's nationwide Mobile Service Units demonstrating their exceptional skills for delivering basic services, maintenance and emergency roadside assistance across Thailand.
Ford is also using the Bangkok Show to introduce the Ford Roadside Assistance mobile app. In the event of a breakdown, customers can simply open the app and press a button to request help.
Their exact location and vehicle details will automatically be transferred to the assistance center and an Assistance Coordinator will contact the customer, already knowing who they are, where they are and what vehicle they are driving. A service vehicle will then be dispatched.
Throughout the show, Ford will give live demonstrations of the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS), a tool available at every Ford dealership that allows technicians to diagnose and service Ford vehicles.
The Ford Service Corner also includes an "Experience Wall System", a smart feature available at all Ford dealers. The EWS is an interactive media wall that allows customers to use a touchscreen monitor to view vehicle information, pricing calculations, and updates on promotions or campaigns.
To help its customers in Thailand enjoy a world-class ownership experience, Ford is offering a zero percent credit card campaign for its Premium Protection Plus (PPP) program, extending the Ford standard warranty from 3 years or 100,000 kilometers with an additional 2 years or 40,000 kilometers. This will allow customers to enjoy their Ford vehicles for 5 years or 140,000 kilometers without having to worry about break-down costs (terms and conditions apply).
At participating showrooms nationwide, Ford will also offer a zero percent credit card program with the option of 10 instalments at zero percent interest through SCB and K Bank credit cards (terms and conditions apply).
Limited time deals
During the Bangkok International Motor Show, Ford is offering exclusive deals for vehicles across its lineup, including a down payment of only 25 percent for a Ford Focus, with zero-percent interest and free first-class insurance for 48 months.
Free first-class insurance will also be offered for the duration of the show for the new Ford Fiesta, Ford EcoSport, Ford Ranger (XL (Petrol), XLT and XLS), Ford Territory, Ford Everest, and the Ford Escape 4x4 XLT+.
The Ford Fiesta will be offered with zero-percent interest on a 20 percent down payment for 72 months, and will also include free first class insurance.

The Bangkok International Motor Show runs from March 25 to April 6 at Impact, Muang Thong Thani.
