Jaguar Land Rover is planning to introduce technologies in its vehicles that will involve usage of colors, sounds and touch inside the car to alert the drivers about the potential hazards.
The sensors will be capable of detecting whether the approaching vehicle is a bicycle or motorbike.
The Bike Sense technology is likely to alert the driver before the potential hazard coming closer to the vehicle.
Bike Sense technology will trigger the audio system to make sound of a bicycle bell or motorbike horn through the speaker nearest the bike, which will help the Jaguar driver to determine the direction of the approaching vehicle.
The technology will also enable the top of the car seat to extend and 'tap' the driver on the left or right shoulder to indicate about a bike approaching from behind the car.
A tap on the right side will indicate that the bike is approaching from the right and vice versa.
The sensor will also be able to prioritize the hazard on a busy road, and will also grab the driver's attention to the hazard using directional light and sound for threats driver cannot see.
Bike Sense will also make the accelerator pedal to vibrate or feel stiff if the driver overlooks the warning signs.
Jaguar Land Rover Research and Technology director Dr Wolfgang Epple said: "Bike Sense takes us beyond the current technologies of hazard indicators and icons in wing mirrors, to optimising the location of light, sound and touch to enhance this intuition.
"This creates warnings that allow a faster cognitive reaction as they engage the brain's instinctive responses.
"If you see the dashboard glowing red in your peripheral vision, you will be drawn to it and understand straight away that another road user is approaching that part of your vehicle."
