Flint Group has announced that its FlexiStar BioRenewable Content (BRC) solvent-based flexo inks for packaging applications have been certified by National Association of Print Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM) as a biorenewable ink with a BRC Index of 80.
According to Flint Group, NAPIM's BRC program recognizes printing ink formulations using bio-derived renewable resources and also the bio-derived components amount used.
NAPIM-certified FlexiStar provides quality packaging inks to the market, which also attend to environment and sustainability related concerns.
Frozen food bags for vegetables and meat, feminine hygiene packaging, diaper packaging and grocery / retail bags are said to be the targeted surface printed application segments for the new inks.
