Indian automaker Tata Motors has introduced its new generation Tata Xenon XT range in South Africa.
The Tata Xenon XT range is offered in 4 variants - Single Cab (4X4), Single Cab (4X2), Double Cab (4X2) and Double Cab (4X4).
Tata Motors commercial vehicles international business head RT Wasan said: "The launch of the Tata Xenon XT will further fortify our position in the South African automotive industry and motivate us to develop more such exciting vehicles for our South African customers"
The new range is equipped with a new generation 2.2L variable turbine technology, direct injection common rail (VTT DiCOR) engine, controlled by a 32-bit electronic control unit. The engine includes a vertical centralized injector and the variable swirl system.
The company has revamped this new engine to meet domestic Euro II requirements. It offers a power of 110 kW at 4000rpm and torque of 320Nm over a wide rpm range of 1500 - 3000.
Besides the engine specifications, the range also includes European styling features like navigation, Bluetooth, dual airbags, ABS, differential lock (double cabs), and limited slip differential (single cabs).
The company's portfolio in South Africa also includes Super ACE 1 ton mini truck, 207 DI turbo 3.0L worker.
