Constantia Flexibles Group has agreed to acquire flexible packaging business of Italian company Lamp San Prospero in a bid to strengthen its pharmaceutical packaging business in Europe.
The transaction is planned to be completed in the near future. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lamp San Prospero, a unit of by privately-owned VIMA Holding, supplies products including printed aluminum blister foil and coldform slitting for major pharmaceutical companies.
Constantia Flexibles Pharma division head and executive vice president Pierre-Henri Bruchon said: “Lamp gives us greater access to the Southern European pharmaceutical market and fits in with our satellite production concept in Europe, which optimizes production and logistic processes, thus providing best-in-class service close to our customers’ facilities.”
Constantia Flexibles Pharma division has manufacturing sites in Austria, Germany, Spain, Vietnam, the UK and Belgium.
Employing about 1,300 people, the division is said to be the world’s second largest flexible packaging manufacturer for the pharmaceutical and home & personal care (HPC) industries.
Recently, Constantia Flexibles acquired a labels company Pemara in Southeast Asia, a flexible packaging company Afripack in South Africa and a pharmaceutical packaging company Oai Hung in Vietnam.
Constantia Flexibles is a manufacturer of flexible packaging products and labels. It offers products to market in the food, pet food, pharmaceuticals and beverage industries.
Constantia Flexibles’ business is divided into three divisions which include food, pharma and labels.
