Automotive technology supplier Bosch has secured a contract to supply its clean diesel technology that will be used in General Motors' 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel vehicle.
As part of the deal, the supplier will deliver fuel injection system, ceramic glow plugs, engine control module, exhaust gas treatment technology and sensors for the vehicle.
The 2014 model year Cruze Diesel is said to be powered by a engine that is expected to generate an output of 151hp and 264lbft of torque, while offering an EPA-estimated fuel consumption of 46mpg on highway.
Robert Bosch Diesel Systems North America regional president Bernd Boisten said, "The launch of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel solidifies the growing perception and market demand for clean diesel technology here in the US."
According to the company, the Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel is the most recent addition of clean diesel models for sale in the country and it expects that over 60 diesel vehicle models will be available in North America in 2017.
