Volvo has introduced S60 Cross Country, its first premium sedan, which is expected to be unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
S60 Cross Country will be offered in two engine variants, a T5 All-Wheel Drive gasoline powertrain capable of providing up to 250 bhp for the US, Canadaian, and Russian markets, and a Front-Wheel Drive 190 hp diesel D4 which will be available in the European markets.
The S60 Cross Country has ride height of 65mm (2.5 inches) and facilitates all-wheel drive option, and it will be available with front-wheel drive option in Europe.
The sedan will be offered in 18" and 19" wheels with tires that are expected to provide comfort reduce road noise and increased wheel protection.
Volvo Cars senior vice president of product strategy Lex Kerssemakers said: "We have included all the capability-driven benefits of the Cross Country brand in this new model, while offering a completely unique expression of adventure and all-road readiness in a distinctly sporty and stylish package."
Volvo has taken design cues from Cross Country wagons for the creation of the S60 Cross Country which gives the sedan a sporty and adventurous edge.
Volvo Cars senior vice president sales, marketing and customer service Alain Visser said: "The S60 Cross Country will appeal to people that are searching for an exciting and capable sedan, whilst enjoying the clear benefits that a crossover offers."
