Verallia Heads The Greatest Investment in a New Industrial Plant Ever Made in Argentina

Verallia Invests USD 70 Million in Argentina

The investment is intended for producing bottles for wines and sparklings.The company will expand its production capacity by 50%.

Verallia heads the greatest investment in a new industrial plant ever made in Argentina in 2012.The local glassware shop of the French group Saint–Gobain got already"Horno 3"(Furnace 3)working,involving a USD 70 million investment,destined mainly to the production of bottles for wines and sparklings.

Thanks to a considerable incorporation of technology,the company will be able to expand its production capacity by between 40%and 50%.

The official opening of the complex will be held on October 30,and will count on the presence of the Provincial Government's authorities,as well as President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner who,via videoconference,will deliver a speech to spotlight the work made by the company and its stake on Argentina.

Verallia,the wine industry's main glass supplier,with this larger production will make up for the increasing demand of its customers,achieving the aim of producing in the country to replace imports.

The investment

Apart from the expansion in square meters of covered surface,the incorporation of a new furnace entailed the creation of 70 new jobs.

The building started in March 2011 to work to full capacity in the 2nd quarter of this year,required 650 qualified labors and increased the workload for local suppliers.

Among other changes,the storage capacity for raw materials was also expanded by the incorporation of new silos(sand,limestone,and solvay soda)and for ground glass.
