Chery Automobile is planning to unveil the Chery Beta 5 concept crossover at the upcoming 2013 Shanghai auto show to be held during 20-29 April 2013.
The Beta 5 is expected to be powered by either a 2L naturally aspirated engine that generates an output of 130hp (97kW) or a 1.6L supercharged engine that delivers an output of 150hp (112kW).
Cahery beta 5 is expected to be based on the Chery's Tiggo 5 sports utility vehicle (SUV) design and will be launched in 2015, according to the UK magazine Autocar.
Features of the vehicle include LED headlights and daytime running lights, an assertive grille and front bumper, wheel arches with plastic flares and large grey alloys.
Earlier, Chery had formed a joint venture (JV) project with British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover for construction of a new manufacturing facility, as part of a CNY 10.9bn ($1.73bn), in east China's Jiangsu province.
