US-based Campbell Soup is recalling about 300 cases of 24oz jars of Prego Traditional Italian sauce as it may be spoiled.
The product subject to the recall was manufactured on 15 December 2013 at the Campbell Soup Supply Company establishment in Paris, Texas. It was shipped on 21 December to retailers for distribution in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
The implicated product features the 'Best By' date of 16 June 2015 and a four-digit, military time code ranging from 'CT BJ ZV 0330' through 'CT BJ ZV 0449.'
In addition, it bears the information JUN 16 2015 12153 CT BJ ZV 0330 through JUN 16 2015 12153 CT BJ ZV 0449.
The recall was initiated during the company's routine quality control testing and it does not affect any other Campbell products.
There have been no reports of illnesses to date, associated with the consumption of the affected product.
Those who have purchased the recalled product have been advised not to eat it and instead return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
